Bournemouth Half Marathon TRANSPORT INFORMATION

The event starts at Hengistbury Head.

Your Event Information Pack will give you a map of the start area and you can use Google Maps to plan your walking route.

There will be Run Bournemouth Event Buses operating between Westover Road, in front of Bournemouth Pavilion (near the finish area) and Hengistbury Head (at the start area).

These services are the fastest way to travel and we strongly suggest you opt to travel this way.

• Tickets can be purchased from the shop.
• Bus tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
• Each person requires their own bus ticket.

2026 Half Marathon - Pre-Event Bus Ticket (To Start)

This is a one-way ticket to Hengitsbury Head (Start Area).

The bus will collect from the following locations:

Westover Road (Finish Area)
Cotlands Road Car Park BH1 3BG (St Swithun's Road)
Sovereign Centre Car Park BH1 4SX

The Half Marathon event buses to the Start Area will operate at 08:45 and 09:45.

Please ensure you are at the bus stop 10 minutes before your planned departure time.

2026 Half Marathon - Post-Event Bus Ticket

This is a one-way ticket departing from Westover Road (Finish Area) travelling to Hengistbury Head (Start Area).

The bus stops at the following locations:

Westover Road (Finish Area).

Sovereign Centre Car Park BH1 4SX
Hengistbury Head BH6 4EL (Start Area)

Post event buses will depart from Westover Road (Finish Area) between 12 noon and 15:40.

This is a one-way ticket departing from Westover Road (Finish Area) travelling to Hengistbury Head (Start Area).

The bus stops at the following locations:

Westover Road (Finish Area).
Cotlands Road Car Park BH1 3BG (St Swithun's Road)
Sovereign Centre Car Park BH1 4SX
Hengistbury Head BH6 4EL (Start Area)

Post event buses will depart from Westover Road (Finish Area) between 12 noon and 15:40.

2026 Half Marathon - Spectator Bus Ticket (Multi Journey Ticket)

This is a multi journey SPECTATOR ticket which can be used to travel to Hengistbury Head (Start Area), then to Westover Road (Finish Area), and back to your chosen parking location after the event.

You can travel to Hengistbury Head (Start Area) from Westover Road (Finish Area), Cotlands Road or the Sovereign Centre.

Buses will depart Hengistbury Head at 11:20 and 11:40 promptly after the start of the Half Marathon to take you to the Finish Area. Please ensure to arrive at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before departure.

After the event you can travel back to your chosen parking location from Westover Road (Finish Area).

Local bus services operate close to the start and finish areas. The finish area is next to Bournemouth Lower Gardens near Gervis Place, which is served by Morebus. 

The nearest train station is Bournemouth. This is on Holdenhurst Road near St Paul's roundabout. The train station is just over 1 mile from the Finish Area and around half a mile from Cotlands Road where Event Buses can be booked to the Start Area. The station is serviced by South West Trains and CrossCountry.

Please note that there will be no parking available at Hengistbury Head Car Park and very limited parking available at the Solent Beach Car Park which will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Car parking charges may be in place at car parks serviced by the Run Bournemouth Event Buses – these are not covered by your bus ticket.

If you are planning to be dropped off at the start area by friends or family, please do so in the Solent Beach Car Park. Please ensure you are dropped off and arrive at the start area AT LEAST 50 minutes prior to the start time to allow time for you to drop off baggage, and visit the toilets.  There are thousands of runners participating, so expect queues and give yourself plenty of time.
